Ashley Plaeger

Ashley Plaeger serves the Passages team as the Vice President of Catholic Relations. Prior to this appointment, she served as the Director of College Counseling at St. Agnes Academy and as the Associate Director of College Counseling at the Emery/Weiner School, both of Houston, Texas. Before her leadership roles in private secondary institutions, Ashley served as the Louisiana State University Senior Regional Admissions Counselor and the Louisiana State University Texas Alumni Coordinator.

Ashley studied Mass Communications and Merchandising at Louisiana State University and The University of Edinburgh in Scotland. In May of 2018, Ashley graduated summa cum laude with a master’s degree in Education from Houston Christian University, where she was recognized as the Sharon E. Saunders Endowed Scholarship recipient for two consecutive years. Ashley was the first student in the school’s history to receive this honor twice.

In 2016, Ashley was one of the first students to experience a Passages trip. She has since served Passages as a Fellow, Senior Fellow, and Trip Staff. Ashley is also philanthropically involved in the Houston community. She boasts a fundraising portfolio of over $8 million dollars, all of which was raised in her spare time. Campaigns that she has chaired and philanthropic accolades include: 2013 LSU Alumni Association Fundraising National Record Holder, 2014 LSU Alumni Association Fundraising National Record Holder, 2014 American Cancer Society Holiday Shopping Card Co-Chair (set a national record for single donation), 2019 American Cancer Society Cattle Baron’s Ball Co-Chair, 2020 Catholic Charities 12 Days of Christmas Chair (tripled fundraising goal), 2021 American Cancer Society Cattle Barons Ball Co-Chair, 2022 Catholic Charities Wine and Dine Host Committee and the 2022 TACAC Advancement Chair (set fundraising record for organization).

Ashley is an active member of the American Cancer Society VICTORY Houston Executive Board, Houston Christian University Alumni Advisory Board, Houston Christian University Alumni Scholarship Board (Board Chair), TACAC Executive Board, Houston Junior League Charity Ball Underwriting Committee, Kappa Alpha Theta Alumni Association, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Magazine Committee (Vice- Chairman), Llama and Alpaca Committee, International Committee, St. Vincent de Paul Parish’s St. Anne’s Society, and she is a riding member in the Krewe of Iris and Krewe of Cleopatra in New Orleans, Louisiana. Ashley and her husband, Douglas, reside in Houston with their son, Logan.
